Cyrille McIntosh

Welcome to my blog! I am excited to take you on my journey as I fine-tune my skills in multimedia content creation. This blog will serve as my portfolio to feature my work for COM561 (Professional Multimedia Content Creation).

A little bit about me…

My name is Cyrille McIntosh. But you are welcome to call me “Cy”.

I am a marketing, communications and events professional working for a non-profit trade association in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada).

For those who are not well versed in Canadian cities, here are some fun facts that I love to tell about Winnipeg:

  • We call ourselves ‘Winnipeggers’
  • We experience extreme weather conditions in the winter and summer months. It is perfectly normal for our city to reach -30 degree Celsius in the winter and 30 degrees Celsius in the summer.
  • We have been the slurpee capital of the world for the past 20 years in a row! (I am not sure if this is an accomplishment, but we are proud of it).
  • Another cool fact that most people don’t know (even people that live in Winnipeg) is that our Union Station, was designed by the same architects that designed the Grand Central Station in New York City.

Aside from telling random (but cool) facts about my city to strangers, I also enjoy camping and just being out in nature. I love to eat good food… and cook (a lot) and am always looking to create the perfect dish.

My career goals…

As a working communications professional, I want to ensure that I am equipped with the appropriate knowledge and background to successfully develop communications strategies and deliver exceptional results for my organization.

I am pursuing an advanced degree as it would allow me to achieve this goal and help me acquire new skills along the way. After successful completion of the program, I intend to apply my refined knowledge in the workforce and become an invaluable resource and asset to my peers. I have always aspired to be a leader in my field and a master’s degree will better position myself for advancement opportunities in my profession.
